Mumbai: Kanakia RBK School Mira Road (ICSE Board) recently hosted a Music Fest – Voice of RBK. This Music Fest titled “Voice of RBK” was a competition, held for students to advance, improve and develop their musical sense and singing skill. It will help to foster a sense of appreciation of arts, music and culture. The event was organized with an aim to put the emerging talent under a spotlight, create memories and inspire future generations to enjoy various dimensions of music. Through this, the students got an opportunity to put their best foot forward and explore their innate abilities and various aspects of this art form. The event was a star-studded affair as Singer, Lyricist and one of the top finalists of the reality show ‘THE VOICE- INDIA’ Mr. Anish Mathew was seen as one of the judges at the event. He was joined by Ms. Sunehaa Thakur, a renowned Actor from the Marathi industry, who is also a versatile singer associated with top channels like Star Pravaah. She made it to the Finals in the singing reality show “Mi Honar Superstar”. She is also seen working in popular show “Maharashtrachi Hasyajatra” on Sony Marathi. These mentors came together to discern, guide and cheer the young amateur participants.

Mrs. Nalini Shetty – Principal, Kanakia RBK School, who herself has a profound interest in music, is of the view that Music is a vital component of education. It is important that we encourage our students to bring out the best of their abilities. It also allows the participants and audience to interact in an environment where entertainment as well as values can be exchanged freely. This will empower them and boosts their self-esteem and confidence. The main aim is to take up such endeavours to provide our students with different creative activities of high quality and setting up the stage for a diverse range of music and arts. We can educate our children and offer a wide breadth of experiences to engage, excite and inspire them to become involved. We plan and design events specifically focused around our children and schools to encourage them to engage in musical activities. Besides students, this will support parents in their quest to explore various opportunities for their children. The parents will know every aspect of their child’s development and stay involved with them in their efforts. This is imperative for their emotional and intellectual connect. Thus, nurturing a good parent- child relationship.
