Karunya extends relief to flood hit victims in Kerala

New Delhi: Centre for Extension Activities of Karunya Institute of Technology and Sciences (Deemed to be University) actively involved in providing relief to the families, who were affected in the rains that caused flooding in Kerala. The NSS units and Rovers of Karunya organised an Emergency Relief Camp in Palakkad and nearby Thellalaparambu, Kolakkunnamparambil, Olavakodu and Kavilpadi villages.

Dr. P. Mannar Jawahar Vice Chancellor encouraged the team members and flagged off the relief camp on 15th August 2018 along with Registrar Dr. Elijah Blessing.

A team of 35 students and 5 faculty members visited the flood affected areas, extended their wholehearted hand of help and distributed essential items & medicines to nearly 250 families.

The camp was well organised by Dr.G. Manoj, Head, Centre for Extension Activities, Dr. K. Karthikeyan, Deputy Admission Officer, Co-ordinators of DGS Rovers Club and NSS students, who joined hands with Mr. Shajan, Director, Palakkad Rovers Scouts in this noble venture.
