Kathua administration organises Kabaddi match under ‘Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav’ celebrations
Kathua: District Administration today organized a Kabaddi match at Government Degree College for Women, Kathua under its special event series to commemorate ‘Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav’ in the district.
Principal, Government Degree College for Women Kathua, Yashpaul Kundal was the chief guest, where 2 teams comprising of 24 players took part in the Kabaddi match held under the supervision of District Youth Services and Sports Officer, Kathua Sunil Kumar.
Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest appreciated the young players for following the game of Kabaddi which needs sheer physical and mental strength. He said besides sports youth must inculcate the habit of reading good books, healthy eating and good amount of sleep for overall health.
DYSSO Sunil Kumar said the activities under ‘Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav’ got tremendous response from the youth. He said the endeavor of the district administration in organizing such events was to engage youth in sports activities and to increase the footfall at the venue of the Special Photo Exhibition on Indian Freedom Struggle organized by Regional Outreach Bureau, J&K.
