KATHUA DDC inspects coronaVirus screening camps; advises PRIs to sensitize villagers

Kathua: District Development Commissioner, O P Bhagat today inspected three coronaVirus screening camps set up here at various entry points.
The Screening-cum- Help desk camps have been established at Lakhanpur, Kathua Railway Station and Atal Setu, where travel history of the commuters is being recorded through self-declaration form, mentioning their address and contact number so that in future if they show any symptoms related to CoVID-19, they can be traced and put to medication.
Speaking on the occasion, the DDC informed that four suspected patients have tested negative but they will continue to remain quarantined in Kathua as a precautionary measure.
“A team of Doctors is monitoring their condition and all the four will continue to remain in the quarantine facility as they are also under the observation of UT Surveillance Cell,” he added.
The DDC informed that 2448 travelers were screened till date in Kathua out of which 78 travelers have history of foreign travel but all of them are asymptomatic, and divulged that their address and contact number have been recorded.
Meanwhile, the concerned were directed to use mass media to generate maximum awareness to prevent the spread of Coronavirus.
The DDC also advised the PRIs to sensitize the villagers concerning the spread of this disease through Gram Sabhas and other means.
CMO, Dr. Ashok Chaudhary also accompanied the DDC during the inspection of screening camps.
