KECA supported by Amara Raja Group celebrates 50 golden years of pioneering work in educating needy meritorious youth from rural areas

 

Tirupati: Krishnadevaraya Educational and Cultural Association (KECA), a non-profit charitable association assisting deserving meritorious students, today hosted its 50 years Golden Jubilee Celebrations at Amara Raja Auditorium, Karakambadi, Tirupati. Chief Guest, Shri Grandhi Mallikarjuna Rao, Founder Chairman of GMR Group graced the occasion with his august presence. Other eminent Guests of Honor included Padma Shri G. Muniratnam, General Secretary, Rashtriya Seva Samithi, Shri Jayadev Galla, MP, Guntur, and Shri Biyyapu Madhusudhan Reddy, MLA, Srikalahasti.

The day long celebrations included souvenir release, felicitation of founders and executive committee, messages from the guests, cultural programs and inspirational messages for students and distribution of scholarships to meritorious students.

Krishnadevaraya Educational and Cultural Association (KECA), over many years, have helped several meritorious students from rural background for quality education. Many students have hugely benefitted from the scholarships and are leading comfortable lives in India and abroad. The impact can be gauged by the fact that these students have come forward to donate to the association, thereby contributing to the noble cause. .

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Ramachandra N Galla, Trustee, Rajanna Trust, Principal Donor & President KECA, said, “Since1969, KECA has been coming up with innovative ways to ensure that education reaches meritorious students from rural backgrounds and also make them industry-ready professionals via myriad skill development programs. As we celebrate the completion of 50 years of the trust, I am happy to highlight the success of our various support programmes, devised to benefit needy students with demonstrated scholastic abilities. Till date KECA have supported more than 1,600 students with scholarships amounting in Rs. 2.75Crores. The Executive committee has also mobilized resources to increase the corpus fund to Rs 5 Crores.”

Shri Grandhi Mallikarjuna Rao Garu, Founder Chairman of GMR Group, who was the Chief Guest for the occasion, reiterated, “It is truly a momentous occasion in the journey of KECA and I am humbled to be present here amongst the dignitaries. Many students of high calibre from rural backgrounds often do not have any access to quality education because of financial constraints, thereby impacting their career and a sustainable livelihood in the long run. KECA has been working tirelessly in various domains to help the needy students. Education is truly the road that leads to empowerment and society’s development and this singular focus of KECA has yielded magnanimous results through the last five decades.”

Over the years, the community has taken a welcome interest in the activities of the KECA. The enthusiasm and financial support of several people including Galla Family, executive committee members, Amara Raja companies, employees, partners and general public having gone a long way in driving the programs of the association. The association intends to fulfil its objectives to greater heights in future.
