Bhubaneswar: “4th International Day of Yoga” celebrated with enthusiasm in KIIT & KISS on 21st June, 2018. The theme for this year’s International Yoga Day is “Yoga for Peace”. On this occasion, thousands of students, teachers and staff performed various basic Yoga postures during the hour-long session at KIIT Cricket Stadium.
Addressing the participants, Sri R.N. Dash, Secretary, KIIT & KISS; Prof. Hrushikesha Mohanty, VC, KIIT-DU and Prof. Harekrushna Satapathy, VC, KISS-DU, placed the essence of Yoga and elucidated how Yoga plays a significant role in our everyday’s lives to make us physically, mentally & spiritually healthy.
Various yogaasanas (postures) and pranayamas (breathing exercises) were carried out by the students and staff members assembled at the Stadium. The Yoga Session was nicely orchestrated by Prof. Biswabandita Kar of KIIT Deemed University along with her team. As many as 4 thousand participants took part in the Yoga Day.
