KIIT World School celebrated Janmashtami with Krishna leela performances

Delhi: KIIT World School, Pitampura, celebrated Janmashtami with great enthusiasm and joy, creating a festive atmosphere throughout the school. The celebration included a variety of colorful and cultural events, where students and staff eagerly participated. The festivities featured a beautiful shower of flower petals, followed by an engaging Rasleela dance.

The program began with a captivating enactment of Lord Krishna’s birth, which was performed with great artistry and emotion. The students portrayed key moments from Krishna’s early life, such as Devaki and Vasudev being imprisoned by King Kansa, the tragic killing of their seven children, and the prophecy by Yogmaya about Krishna’s birth. The performance continued with other well-known stories from Krishna’s childhood, including the charming episodes of him stealing butter, lifting the Govardhan mountain to protect the villagers, and his playful interactions with Radha.

The celebration concluded with a lively Dahi Handi (pot-breaking) ceremony, where a student dressed as Krishna delighted the crowd by breaking the pot, symbolizing the spirit of joy and togetherness.

On this joyous occasion, Sangeeta Bhatia, Principal of KIIT World School, Pitampura, encouraged everyone to embrace the teachings and virtues of Lord Krishna, saying, “This Janmashtami, let us all strive to embody Krishna’s qualities of love, beauty, and divinity. Let us work towards creating a world where life is a celebration, and truth, righteousness, and love are at the heart of everything we do.” She urged the students to draw inspiration from Krishna’s life and apply these lessons to their own lives, fostering a spirit of compassion, courage, and wisdom.
