KIIT World School, Pitampura hosts workshop on NEP 2020 for educators
Delhi: KIIT World School, Pitampura recently organized a workshop to help educators better understand the New Education Policy (NEP) 2020. The session highlighted the shift from traditional rote learning to more experiential and concept-based approaches that prioritize holistic development.
Participants were introduced to the NEP’s four-stage pedagogical framework, starting with the foundational stage (ages 3 to 8) that emphasizes play-based learning, progressing to the secondary stage (ages 14 to 18), which prepares students for higher education through multidisciplinary methods. The focus was on fostering 21st-century skills, promoting real-life applications in learning, and integrating mother tongue instruction in early education, ensuring students are rooted in their cultural identity while being prepared for global opportunities.
Educators also explored innovative teaching strategies like experiential learning and storytelling to make lessons more engaging and meaningful. The NEP’s holistic progress card, which assesses students beyond academics, was discussed as a vital tool for evaluating well-rounded development.
Speaking on this, Sangeeta Bhatia, Principal of KIIT World School, Pitampura, said, “The New Education Policy is a transformative step towards a more dynamic and inclusive educational framework. It is vital that educators understand these changes and implement them in a way that truly benefits the students. Our focus is on developing well-rounded individuals who are not only academically proficient but also equipped with the life skills needed for the future.”
This workshop is part of KIIT World School’s ongoing efforts to stay at the forefront of educational reforms, equipping educators with the knowledge and tools needed to deliver quality education in line with modern pedagogical standards.
