King’s College London Forms New Partnership with Iraqi Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research
On Monday 20 May, His Excellency Dr Naeem Al-Aboudi, the Iraqi Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research (MOHESR), and Professor Hazem Baqer Taher, Director of Scholarships and Cultural Relations Directorate, visited King’s College London to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to mark a key step in the development of a partnership between the organisations.
The MoU will facilitate collaboration between the two partners on postgraduate training, building capacity and developing early career researchers from Iraq, whose research will create positive change and value for people, planet and society.
I am very pleased to sign this agreement, which will enable postgraduate training and research partnerships between King’s and Iraq’s top tier education institutions. We look forward to welcoming future students and strengthening our collaboration across various academic disciplines.
We are delighted to be working with colleagues from Iraq to train future leaders in research and innovation, who will enrich our doctoral community.
Dr Nigel Eady, Director of Research Talent
The MOHESR delegation was in London as part of the Education World Forum, 19-22 May, the world’s largest gathering of education and skills ministers.
