King’s College London hosts GLoW3 artist’s programme
The new GLoW3: Artist Programme responds to the promise and potential of a raft of new technologies – dubbed ‘Web 3.0’ – such as AI, blockchain, NFTs, the metaverse and other immersive realities.
Professor Sarah Atkinson – from the Department of Culture, Media & Creative Industries – leads the AHRC-funded fellowship and is inviting proposals from women, non-binary and trans artists to produce and present new artwork in a critical moment of transition and development of these new technologies.
The conversation around Web 3.0 has been dominated by a narrow range of voices and perspectives. The GLoW3 artists programme seeks to intervene in and shape the future of Web 3.0 through engagement with artists. By providing them with access to bleeding-edge technologies and digital expertise, the programme will enable experimentation, discovery, and development of new artworks that respond to the questions posed by emerging technologies

Successful applicants will be awarded up to £8,000 to support their work and the artists will gain access to the facilities and expertise of the project supporters National Gallery X (NGX), the Virtual Immersive Production (VIP) Studio at University of Nottingham and Epic Games Innovation Lab in London along with King’s Culture and King’s Digital Lab.
Applications are being sought for the programme – and accepted up until 12 June.
The programme will consist of workshops and development activities in London and online beginning in September 2023 with an exhibition planned for Spring 2024.
