King’s College London: King’s ranks fourth for psychology in The Times Good University Guide 2023

The new edition of The Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide profiles 135 universities and is considered to be the definitive ranking for British universities.

The annual academic league table is made up of eight indicators including student satisfaction with teaching quality, student experience, research quality, graduate prospects, entrance qualifications held by new students, degree results achieved, student/staff ratios, and degree completion rates.

This year, King’s has risen two places for Psychology – from sixth to fourth – since The Times Good University Guide 2022. Undergraduate psychology students at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience (IoPPN) reported 80.1%. student satisfaction with teaching quality. This follows the 2022 National Student Survey results published earlier this year, which revealed that undergraduate courses at the IoPPN are fourth highest for psychology student satisfaction in the Russell Group, and second highest in London.

It’s fantastic to see our undergraduate psychology programmes recognised in this way – especially as these programmes are still quite new. Working with staff who are so committed to the best in teaching and student experience is a real privilege.
– Professor Juliet Foster, Dean of Education at King’s IoPPN
