Professor Stephen Bach, Executive Dean of King’s Business School and interim Vice President (People & Talent) of King’s College London, is to become a member of the Council of Trustees for the Society for the Advance of Management Studies (SAMS).

SAMS is the governing body of the prestigious Journal of Management Studies, one of the publications in the so-called FT50 list of journals used by the Financial Times in compiling its Business School research ranking. The organisation has a broader scope that includes publishing and editing books, journals and essays, offering research grants and providing funding for activities that benefit the management studies community as a whole.

In addition to his role as the inaugural Executive Dean of King’s Business School, Professor Bach has a distinguished track-record in research, concentrated on the interface between public and private sector human resource management practices.

I am delighted to be joining the Council of Trustees for the Society for the Advancement of Management Studies. I am looking forward to working with my fellow trustees from other institutions to help shape the future direction of the management studies discipline. Like so many of my colleagues I want to ensure that the field of management studies supports the work of talented scholars from all backgrounds and fosters research that will have a positive impact on the world around us.
