King’s College London’s Dr. Thomas Booth Takes on AI Leadership Role at the Royal College of Radiologists
Dr Thomas Booth has been appointed as Faculty Lead for Clinical Radiology Artificial Intelligence (CRAI) for the Royal College of Radiologists.
In his role as Faculty Lead, Dr Booth will play a key part in the development of new learning modules for the Clinical Radiology Artificial Intelligence (CRAI) faculty, part of a cutting-edge learning programme developed by the Royal College of Radiologists (RCR).
The programme is designed to support radiologists and allied healthcare professionals at any stage of their career. It’s innovative approach combines interactive e-learning modules with dynamic workshops to provide a comprehensive exploration of AI’s role in radiology.
Dr Booth’s role will see him recruiting and leading subject matter experts to create and deliver educational resources and ongoing learning support in radiology and artificial intelligence, for both UK and global audiences.
I’m delighted that I’m going to be leading a group of well-informed and enthusiastic clinicians and data scientists with expertise in AI and a flair for teaching. The Faculty of 14 has undergone a rigorous selection process which bodes well for radiology. The well-known saying that “radiologists using AI will replace radiologists not using AI” contains much truth – we need to ensure that radiologists can use AI and the CRAI Faculty will enable that journey for many.
