Kisan Mela organized at Samba

Samba: A Kisan Mela cum exhibition under ATMA was today organised by Department of agriculture District samba at Krishi Vigyan Kendra samba.
The Kisan mela was inaugurated by District Development Commissioner Samba Rohit Khajuria.
Various allied departments including Horticulture, sheep Husbandry, animal husbandry, fisheries, JK Agro industry besides Krishi Vigyan Kendra, – agriculture department and private companies dealing in different agriculture products installed their stalls.
Over 500 farmers participated in the mela along with 400 officers and officials of the concerned departments.
The main attraction was the exhibits of the various field crops fruits vegetables and flowers brought by the farmers of District samba.
The District development Commissioner applauded the efforts of Agriculture department, Samba for organising such a huge Mela and also stressed the farmers to adopt the latest agriculture technologies to enhance their production.
The Chief Agriculture Officer, Jahangir Shafi, apprised the farmers regarding the various activities schemes undertaken by the Department of agriculture Sambar for the welfare of farmers.
Scientist from Krishi Vigyan Kendra also spread awareness among the farmers regarding the various Technological interventions in agriculture.
Later, the farmers were awarded first second and consolation prizes for the best exhibits.
