Kishtwar Administration braces up to hold Block wise Self Employment Melas

DC chairs District Level Task Force meeting of Mission Youth Asks for spreading mass awareness about self Employment schemes at grassroots level

 

KISHTWAR: District Administration Kishtwar is bracing up to conduct Block wise Self Employment Melas in the District to disseminate the awareness about the Self Employment schemes at grassroots level.

In this regard, Deputy Commissioner Ashok Sharma today chaired a meeting of the District Level Task Force of Mission Youth here at conference Hall New DC office Complex Mini Secretariat Kishtwar.

At the outset, Officer on Special Duty Mission Youth and incharge for district Kishtwar Anoop Kumar gave a detailed account of various livelihood, skill, career & psycho-social counselling, recreation and social engagement related initiatives of Mission Youth. He apprised the DLTF about eligibility criteria, selection process, funding pattern etc under each scheme.

It was informed that a wide range of activities comes under the ambit of Mission Youth including promotion of self-employment through schemes like Tejaswini, MUMKIN, AVSAR, Rise Together, SAHYTA, development of Tourist Village network etc.

Threadbare discussions were held regarding identification of unemployed rural youth to provide them self employment opportunities offered in their field of interest. It was informed in the meeting that a database of the youth is to be prepared in the District for which the schedule of Melas shall be notified soon.

During the meeting, the chair also reviewed the implementation of the self employment initiatives of Mission Youth and finalised the road map for extending the benefits of the same to the unemployed youth in the district. It was informed that the District Administration has identified 5 youth per Panchayat to engage them in gainful activities earmarked under Mission Youth.

The Deputy Commissioner directed District Employment &Counselling Centre to work in tandem with the designated Panchayat Mentors to conduct awareness programmes at each Panchayat so that all the eligible youths were saturated with the self-sustaining schemes of J&K UT Government.

The meeting was attended by ADDC Kishtwar Sham Lal,JDP Mohd Iqbal, GM DIC Khalid Hussain Malik, SDM Chhatroo/CEO KDA Inderjeet Parihar, DPO Kishtwar Sunil Bhutyal, ACP Zakir Hussain Kishtwar, OSD Mission Youth Anoop Kumar, LDM Nasir Ahmed, ALC Kishtwar Amit Kumar, BDOs besides other concerned.
