Kishtwar: AHD launches district wide awareness cum Deworming campaign

 

KISHTWAR : In continuation to the celebration of Azadi ka Amrut Mahautsav and as part of good Governance, Department of Animal Husbandry Kishtwar today kick started awareness cum Deworming programme here on the instruction of Deputy commissioner Ashok Sharma.

The campaign is being held in all blocks of the District like Padder, Dachhan, Marwah, Warwan, Bunjwah, Palmar, Sigdi under the guidance of Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, Dr. Sanjay Kumar Sen and with the involvement of PRIs of the respective areas.

During the programme, the awareness about the importance and benefits of de-worming and vaccination would be spread across the length and breadth of the district.

Furthermore, the additional management aspects for good health of livestock would also be deliberated by the concerned VAS’s.
On the first day, the farmers were also impressed to take benefits of KCC and other centrally sponsored schemes including IDDS, IPDP and FDS. Important tips on clean milk production and maintenance of good health of livestock including requirements for a good and healthy cowshed were also given to the farmers.

Speaking on the occasion, the CAHO Kishtwar informed that the week long programme aims to educate the masses regarding departmental activities and to liaise with the department regarding livestock management, timely vaccination and deworming for good health of livestock. He said all this will help in increasing the production and doubling farmers’ income.
