Kissan Ghosti cum Plantation drive held at Purmandal

 

SAMBA : A Kissan Ghosti cum Plantation drive was today held at village Meen Charkan in Zone Purmandal under Agriculture Technology Management Agency (ATMA) programme.

Director Horticulture Jammu Ram Savak was the chief guest. The inauguration of the programme began with the plantation over an area of 25 Kanal in the Kandi belt of the district. Over 100 farmers of the district attended the programme amid strict adherence to Covid protocols.

During the programme, sanction letters for the purchase of tractors, construction of Deep bore well, construction of Vermicompost units under various centrally sponsored schemes were handed over to the eligible orchardist by the Director.

The Director Horticulture interacted with the Farmers and informed them about various schemes of the department. He advised them to plant high density Plants in their fields to increase their income. He also asked the farmers to plant Aloe Vera plants in their rain-fed land to utilize it to generate income from such areas.

Farmers of the area have assured to hold more plantations with full zeal. The Chief Horticulture Officer, Jammu & Chief Horticulture Officer Samba along with other Officers/Officials of district were also present.
