Kite flying festival organized in District Samba
SAMBA : District administration Samba today organized a Kite Flying Festival here at an impressively decorated Rani Suchait Singh Sports Stadium, Arazi.
The event was held with an objective to discourage the use of nylon/plastic threads and simultaneously engage youth and promote among them the age hold culture sport of Kite flying.
Deputy Commissioner, Anuradha Gupta, the Chief Guest, said that kite flying is an age-old culture and was also associated with aspirations, dreams and imaginations of individuals.
The DC Samba said that this function was organized with a resolve to revive the traditional ethos of brotherhood and compassion among fellow brethrens and also launch a movement against use of banned threads. “Samba administration has strictly imposed a ban on nylon/plastic threads commonly called Chinese Manja, Gattu and a message against these threads is also spread through today’s participations” added the DC samba.
Amid strict adherence to the covid-19 SOPs, around 25 young Samba lads were invited as the ambassadors of Change and to reach out to Samba youth with the message ‘Say No Chinese Manja’.
Additional District Development Commissioner Tilak Raj Shastri; District Social Welfare Officer, Deep Kumar, AD FCS & CA Mukhter Ahmed Lone besides other field staff were also present.
