KL Deemed to be University to Host International Conference cum Workshop on AI/ML Applications for Early Prediction and Treatment of Neurological Disorders

 

New Delhi  – KL Deemed to be University is pleased to announce the organization of a conference cum workshop titled “AI/ML Applications to Develop Bio-Markers for Neurological Disorders.” Sponsored by the Department of Science and Technology (DST)-SERB, the workshop will be held from August 21st to August 25th, 2023, at the university campus in Vaddeswaram, Guntur, Andhra Pradesh, India. The conference is organized jointly by the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, Department of BioTechnology, and College of Pharmacy at KL Deemed to be University.

 

The conference aims to provide a platform for Medical Students, Researchers, Scientists, Academicians and Students to explore the application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) techniques in developing bio-markers for neurological disorders.

 

Neurological disorders have become a challenging concern in the medical field, and understanding the human brain is paramount to addressing these challenges. Dr. G. Pardha Saradi Varma, Vice Chancellor of KL Deemed to be University, expressed his belief, stating, “This workshop will lead to significant advancements in neuroscience and contribute to the development of effective treatments for neurological disorders. It is important to comprehend the brain to improve overall health. To understand the brain is to understand your own health.”

 

Dr. Shashibala, Director of NIPER, Prof. Srnivas Chakravarthy from IIT Madras, Dr. Anita Mahadevan from NIMHANS, Bangalore, Prof. TSS Rao from JSS Medical College, Mysore, a renowned neurosurgeon Dr.Hanuma Srinivasa Reddy from Brinda Neuro Hospital, Guntur, Dr. Vinay Hegde from Apollo Hospital, Dr. Dharmendra from NIPER, Hyderabad, Dr. Damodar Reddy from NIT-Goa, along with eminent neuroscientists will be the resource persons in this workshop. Distinguished experts from esteemed institutions, including Dr. Anuradha Kar, Scientist, Paris Brain Institute, France, Dr. Muralidhar Hegde, Houston Methodist Research Institute, USA and Prof. Sham M. Kakade, Harvard University, USA among others, will serve as resource persons.

 

Participants will not only have the opportunity to learn about the brain but also visit clinical laboratories. The conference seeks to bridge the gap between brain science and AI research, promoting a deeper understanding of brain disorders and enabling early detection and treatment.Moreover, this workshop will be organized to offer attendees a unique chance to gain insights into the fundamentals of AI/ML, analyze MRI and EEG patterns, and explore the potential of AI/ML in brain research. The conference/workshop will cover a wide range of topics, including the anatomical-based human brain and its functions, cognitive and computational neuroscience, and the application of AI/ML in neurological disorders.

 

In addition, the conference/workshop will provide travel awards to 20 participants on a merit basis. The deadline to apply for travel awards is July 5th, 2023, and the announcement of recipients will be made on July 10th, 2023. The registration form can be submitted until August 5th, 2023. The conference will be organized in the supervision of senior management, and joint efforts of faculty members, staff and convener of the conference, Dr. M. Vasujadevi.
