KLAY Preschool and Daycare Offers Delivery of Teaching and Childcare Services at Home Through ‘KARE@Home’

Bengaluru: KLAY (Kids Learning And You) Preschools and Daycare recently launched KARE@Home, a unique solution which provides the in-person services of KLAY-trained teachers and caregivers within the comfort and safety of your home. Catering to children aged between 6 months to 6 years, the program operates in two formats – ‘Teacher@Home’ and ‘Caregiver@Home’ – basis the diverse requirement of families, in a convenient subscription model.

The COVID-19 scenario has changed education forever. The learning environment for children has shifted away from physical classrooms to the online space, overnight. While schools and teachers have harnessed their innovative best to ensure learning continuity for children online, there are parents and children who are still getting used to the new format. Based on the premise of catering to diverse needs of parents during these unprecedented times, KLAY offers – KARE@Home – personalized teaching and childcare at the homes of families through their trained staff, as the next best alternative.

Introducing ‘Social Bubbles’ in India

Drawing from successful models in countries like Belgium, Germany, and Norway, KARE@Home offers in-person teaching and caregiving in the ‘social bubble’ format as well. In a nutshell, every family chooses two/three families they trust to come together during the pandemic to ease transition from self-isolation to public exposure. All the precautions are strictly adhered to by the bubble members and children benefit from peer-peer learning and interaction.

Stringent Health & Safety Training

The solution is built to ensure the safety of both families and KLAY staff. The teachers and caregivers undergo medical screening for infection (via a trusted healthcare partner) on a monthly basis and their temperature is monitored for seven days before they are assigned on duty.

Other measures include –

· Psychometric analysis and multi-stage background verification of staff

· Staff equipped with a comprehensive COVID-19 safety kit

· Staff matched with families based on their location to reduce exposure through public transport as much as possible

· Women’s safety app with SOS feature installed on their phone (tracks location while on duty)

· All staff are POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) trained

AK Srikanth, CEO, KLAY said “If the pandemic has taught us anything, it is to remain agile and innovative to meet the customer’s needs. In the last three months, we’ve seen that parents have unique and diverse requirements and our endeavour is to give them the power to choose. While we already offer an interactive, classroom-format program called Learn@Home , we also wanted to serve parents who prefer the physical presence of our teachers/caregivers at their homes. We are continuously working to ensure both our staff and our parent community are safeguarded from a health and safety standpoint”.

The delivery of lessons is aligned to the proven KLAY curriculum and the caregivers are fully trained according to KLAY’s global standards. Currently, the program has been adopted by 150 families and is expected to increase to 1000 by March 2021.

Priyanka Jain, one of the parents who had subscribed for the program from Bangalore, said “We enrolled our child for a very interesting program offered by KLAY called Kare@Home. The program promises to take care of your child while you are pursuing your work commitments. The program has done complete justice to my daughter’s interests and learning. Thank you very much KLAY for delivering much more than what was promised as part of the program and being so understanding towards our child and our needs put together. I will definitely recommend Kare@Home to all my fellow parents who are looking to enrol their child for a safe and effective at home care and learning model.”
