KLAY Preschool & Daycare Ranks 75 Among 100 ‘Best Places to Work’ in 2020

Bangalore: KLAY (Kids Learning And You) Preschool & Daycare has been ranked 75 among 100 Great Places to Work by the ‘Great Place to Work Institute’ in the Education & Training category for the period from April 2020 – March 2021. Operating under the brand name KLAY, the company provides day care and preschool education to children aged 6 months to 6 years.

Founded with the intent of bringing women back to work, KLAY has successfully enabled 42K+ women to return to work in the last 9 years. Women, especially mothers, are held back due to various milestones starting with maternity, school-going commitments of their children, right up to caregiving responsibilities of aging parents. By providing a robust childcare ecosystem which includes a safe and happy environment for the child along with a strong support system for the parent, KLAY has empowered several women to take charge of their careers, guilt-free.

Importantly, KLAY walks the talk by providing a women-friendly environment for it’s workforce, a whopping 94% of which are constituted by women. So far, KLAY has built a community of 50K+ relieved mothers, 450+ people-friendly corporates and 2500+ happy employees. Every year, 10K+ children are taught and cared for by highly trained teachers and caregivers. KLAY’s unique ‘Freedom to Flub’ manifesto acts as the north star, guiding organizational culture and customer service;
Make mistakes
So you learn, improve, grow
Be tolerant of other’s mistakes
Be lenient but not lax
Better to innovate and make mistakes
Than be safe and stagnate
Try to be constructive
Rather than critical
Seek to repair and resolve
Rather than recriminate and stress
Conscientious caring drives whatever we do
Rather than inflexible implementation of rules and processes
Be responsive to needs and issues
Rather than being reactive to problems

Commenting on the recognition, AK Srikanth, CEO, KLAY, said, “The recognition is a testimony to our culture inspired by our purpose in empowering women to build their identity beyond motherhood. It has been a long, but eventful journey in the last 9 years. I wouldn’t say that it has been easy to get here; we’ve had a fair share of challenges and I believe that we got over it with strong camaraderie and togetherness”

“We believe that COVID-19 will impact mothers disproportionately and we’re working relentlessly to ease some of that burden, within the given circumstances. We’re continuously innovating for the needs of parents in the new normal and we’ve launched an online classroom learning program Learn@Home, a personalized care and learning solution at your doorstep called KARE@Home all in a span of two months. This recognition is dedicated to all the KLAY-ites – who are the brand themselves” he added.

Every year, Great Place to Work® identifies India’s 100 Best Companies to Work For (with employee strength more than 500) through an objective and rigorous workplace culture assessment process. KLAY has been conferred with the title for the second time in a row.
