KMOU Secures 100 million won from University Development Fund from Professor Emeritus Kim Young-sik

Professor Emeritus Kim Young-sik, who worked at our university for 40 years, has shown strong affection for his alma mater after retirement .



Professor Emeritus Kim Young-shik donated 100 million won in development funds and 30 paintings he painted while working as an artist after retirement to the university .



The University Development Fund Delivery Ceremony was held on the 12th at the Arch Lounge of Oullim Hall, attended by key officials from inside and outside the university, including President Do Do Hee and Emeritus Professor Young Sik Kim .



The event proceeded in the order of ▲ delivery of development funds ▲ opening of the exhibition ▲ congratulatory speeches and thanksgiving following the opening ceremony . In addition, an exhibition of 30 works by Professor Emeritus Kim Young-sik was also held at this event .



The university development fund delivered by Professor Emeritus Kim Young-shik is used to nurture talents with expertise in the maritime field , and is also used for the overall development of Korea Maritime and Ocean University as it leaps forward as an internationally prestigious university . In addition, with the exhibition prepared together, Korea Maritime and Ocean University is expected to move forward as a campus where cultural sympathy is alive .



The work can be seen in the Arch Lounge on the 4th floor of the University Eoulim Hall until the 19th .



President Do Do-hee said , “ I am deeply grateful for the fact that you are making great efforts to develop the university by donating development funds even after retirement . ” I will do my best , ” he said .



Meanwhile, Professor Emeritus Kim Young-sik graduated from Korea Maritime and Ocean University and received a doctorate from Tokyo Institute of Technology. After 40 years of training at his alma mater, he retired in 2010 . Even after that, he participated in the Korea Industrial Technology Promotion Association’s high-career scientist program, actively engaged in technology development for small and medium-sized enterprises, while continuing to work as a painter .
