Kolkata based Badalia Diamonds sparkled on the runway for EQUINOX Couture 2023-24 by Rohit Gandhi & Rahul Khanna
Shobita Dhulipala and Ishaan Khattar set the ramp on fire in a collection inspired by the celestial geometry of Autumn Equinox.
Rohit Gandhi and Rahul Khanna unveiled their latest collection ‘Equinox’ at FDCI India Couture Week, with Shobita Dhulipala and Ishaan Khatter as the showstoppers. Kolkata based Badalia Diamonds, the four-generation family-run natural diamond jewellery brand helmed by Sashi Bhai and Golu Bhai, dazzled the prestigious India Couture Week today for the first time ever! Badalia diamonds that has been in the business of manufacturing and retailing natural diamonds for over 65 years, partnered with the globally renowned designer duo Rohit Gandhi + Rahul Khanna who have been in the fashion industry for the last 25 years.
“This evening brought together the best of modern art, fashion and jewellery design. The showstoppers were the highlights of this evening. Shobhita Dhulipala wore here personality of funky and modern in a mermaid skirt with slit paired with an unusual blouse and a dupatta draped like a saree. She also spotted strings of diamond bracelets from Badalia Diamonds. Ishaan Khattar in an embellished Navy Tuxedo with a see through T shirt and satin silk scarf was the picture of 2023 spunky. Ishan looked sauve and dapper as ever and was seen sporting a Badalia brooch on his silk scarf that caught everyone’s attention. The two brought high energy to a sizzling ramp.

The designers Rohit Gandhi and Rahul Khanna added, “Equinox marries faith and fable, with architecture and craft to birth a collection that is equally balanced. Equinox’s patterns draw from the mathematical plotting of the sun and earth’s path, and their representation on vintage kaleidoscopic windows found across the world from Bombay to Manhattan. Much of the collection draws from long wintery walks where ancient metal fences with trellis designs were the only spot of floral hope. Couture week is the perfect place to launch a collection of artistic and craft details.”
Styled by Daniel Franklin the collection features mesmerising patterns and brings them to life in rich, unlined fabrics, and hypnotic 3D embroidery techniques. In keeping with the collection’s aesthetic, hair and make-up by Anu Kaushik features sleek hair with embellished eyes.
