Korea Maritime & Ocean University: College of Maritime Affairs 2022 Spring Graduation Ceremony Held

The College of Maritime Affairs ( Dean Kim Jin-kwon ) has produced 426 graduates ( 75th class ) .



On the 26th , the ‘2022 Maritime College Early Year Graduation Ceremony ‘ was held at the campus auditorium, attended by President Do Do-hee, faculty members of the Maritime University, the president of the alumni association, degree conferees , parents , current students, and honorary professors .



This graduation ceremony was the first of the 2022 undergraduate degree conferencing ceremonies held at all universities across the country .



After the opening ceremony in the auditorium, the ceremony proceeded in the order of congratulatory remarks by parents and guests including the president , conferment of degrees , singing of school songs and hat tossing , and closing ceremony . After the graduation ceremony, a certificate of excellence was awarded to graduates in the seminar room of the new building of the Maritime University .



A total of 426 maritime college students graduated this time : ▲ Maritime Transportation Science Department 72 ▲ Engine System Engineering Department 54 ▲ Navigation Department 76 ▲ Engine Engineering Department 57 ▲ Coast Guard Department 33 ▲ Offshore Plant Operation Department 31 ▲ Maritime IT Engineering Department 49 ▲ The Department of Maritime and Global Studies is 54 students .



Graduates of the College of Maritime Affairs, who have completed the specialized training course for nautical science including onboarding practice, plan to board merchant ships after graduation to gain practical experience and contribute to the development of Korea’s shipping and maritime industries .


President Do Do-Hee said, “ Korea Maritime and Ocean University is a university with a deep history and tradition that has grown and developed with liberation, and has contributed greatly to Korea’s growth as one of the world ’s top 10 economic and maritime powers . ” We must emulate the efforts of our seniors who have played a pivotal role in the field and face the various challenges we will face in the world head-on, ” he stressed .



Then he said , “ I will do my best to make your alma mater , Korea Maritime and Ocean University, a strong support for a long time . ”



On the other hand, Korea Maritime and Ocean University is holding a degree conferment ceremony by classifying them into maritime colleges and non-maritime colleges for the reason of the ‘ onboard ship reserve service system ‘ . In general, the College of Maritime Affairs is held in January , and general college and master’s / doctoral degree conferment ceremonies are held in February .



The onboard ship reserve service system is a system in which graduates of maritime schools fulfill their military service obligations while serving on board ships on commercial or fishing vessels .
