Korea Maritime & Ocean University: MOU with Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering for ‘industrial-academic cooperation win-win growth’
Our university and Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering ( CEO Park Doo -sun ) signed a business agreement with the goal of shared growth through industry-university cooperation .
The main contents of the agreement are to establish a cooperative system for certification and commercialization of education for incumbent and seafarers of eco-friendly ships . Based on this, the training of experts who will lead the eco-friendly smart shipbuilding industry and the self-reliance of the curriculum will be achieved .
The business agreement ceremony held at the university headquarters on the 23rd was attended by major officials from both institutions . From the university side , major professors such as President Doh Do-hee and Vice President Yang-ik Joo of the LINC3.0 Project Group attended , and from Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering, major officials including CEO Park Doo-sun attended .
In accordance with the agreement, these institutions will use and develop contents such as VR ( virtual reality ) -based simulators for the education of eco-friendly ship incumbents and seafarers . In addition, we plan to cooperate with each other for mutual growth, such as the development of training courses for incumbent and seafarers of eco-friendly ships , support for professional instructors, and advice on curriculum .
Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering CEO Park Doo-seon said, “ As the current boom in orders for LNG carriers continues, related industries such as shipbuilding equipment are also growing together . ” said .
President Doh Do-hee said, “ Today ’s agreement will serve as an opportunity to establish an education system that connects the virtuous cycle of the shipbuilding industry and the shipping industry in Korea . I will give it to you , ” he said .
