Korea University: Online Recruitment Yields Larger and More Diverse
Admissions officers from KU’s International Education Team are pleased to report a 30% increase in the enrollment rate for international students for the spring semester of 2022 compared with 2021. These positive results have been achieved by increasing KU’s online presence through hosting online cultural events, information sessions, application workshops and participating in key virtual recruitment events.
“We are very proud of not only maintaining, but growing the number of international degree-seeking undergraduate students at KU during these challenging times,” says Ms. JJ Park, Manager of International Student Admissions. “The disruptions in business as usual has had a surprisingly positive impact on our recruitment efforts, through new and innovative online opportunities we have been able to reach more students, from all over the world, which has increased our numbers.”
In addition to boosting the number of students beginning their studies at KU this spring, the make-up of the new student cohort is significantly more diverse with a rising percentage of students coming from outside of traditional markets, particularly from North America and Central Asia.
