Krea University Professor Dr. Sudip Roy elected as Fellow of The Royal Society of Chemistry
Chennai: Dr. Sudip Roy, Visiting Associate Professor of Chemistry, Krea University has been elected as a Fellow to the Royal Society of Chemistry. This is in recognition of Dr. Sudip Roy’s significant contributions to the Chemical Sciences over a period of more than two decades.
Commenting on the recognition, Dr. Sudip Roy said, “I am humbled to receive this special honour from the Royal Society of Chemistry. I would like to highlight that this appreciation also rewards my graduate students, colleagues, collaborators and leaders from academia and industry who believed in the innovative and creative research ideas that I brought in and they supported me full-heartedly in my journey of building bridges between academia and industry.”
Dr Roy was awarded his Ph.D. in Chemical Sciences from the University of Saarland in Germany followed by post-doctoral work at Technical University Darmstadt, Germany. He was also Chevening Fellow in the year 2019 and studied management of research, science, and innovation at the University of Oxford.
He has been a scientist at the CSIR- National Chemical Laboratory in Pune. His work in computational chemistry and materials science has also included work with leading companies such as Shell and Intel.
Dr Sudip Roy is a Visiting Associate Professor of Chemistry at Krea University. He is the founder of Prescience Insilico Private Limited and currently he is working as Managing Director and CTO of his own start-up in the computational Life Sciences and Materials domain.
