KVIB Budgam holds daylong workshop on PMEGP, JKREGP employment schemes
BUDGAM : The Jammu and Kashmir, Khadi and Village Industries Board (KVIB), today held a daylong workshop on employment generation by implementation of PMEGP and JKREGP schemes at ITI Budgam.
The programme conducted under the directions from Chairperson J&K KVIB, Dr Hina Shafi Bhat witnessed a good gathering of aspiring entrepreneurs, applicants and students.
Speaking on the occasion, the Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Budgam, Dr Nasir Ahmad Lone said that no society can survive unless its youth strive to sustain their livelihood.
The ADC emphasized the need for close coordination and synchronization between sponsoring agencies and financial institutions for ensuring time-bound processing of loan cases. He said the aim of getting education should be overall development of the society, economic progress and better livelihood.
He urged youth to dream big and set the target and achieve their goal.
Dr Lone said the youth should choose to become job providers instead of job seekers. It needs hard work, dedication and consistency to show that you are worth to become successful. He further reiterated that the government shall provide every support to the aspiring entrepreneurs for their endeavour.
The resource persons deliberated on implementation of PMEGP, JKREGP and creation of units and role of banks in implementation of employment generation programmes.
During a question- answer session resource persons addressed many issues and queries raised by applicants and aspiring entrepreneurs on the occasion.
Principal ITI presented a vote of thanks and said that the workshop shall prove fruitful for all the participants.
Senior Officers from J&K KVIB, General Manager DIC Budgam, Cluster Head J&K Bank Budgam, Director RSETI Budgam, Officers from ITI Budgam and Officers from District administration, line departments, bank officers and educated unemployed youth / aspirant entrepreneurs attended the workshop.
Dy. Chief Executive officer KVIB-Kashmir also gave a brief outlook of the entrepreneurial opportunities available for aspirant entrepreneurs and stressed them to come forward and explore the possibilities of establishment of their own micro enterprises.
The gathering was informed that from 2019-20 till date, margin money of Rs. 377.18 crores has been released for establishment of 16724 units thereby creating employment opportunities for 128022 persons in Kashmir Division under JKREGP and PMEGP.
Earlier, detailed PPTs on employment generation programmes viz. JKREGP and PMEGP were presented in the workshop. The Bank Officers acclimatized the participants about the procedure and processes involved in processing of loan cases.
