La Trobe joins Digital Health CRC
La Trobe’s Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research and Industry Engagement) Professor Susan Dodds said the University was pleased to be part of the DHCRC, an important innovative research program focused on finding solutions.
“As we know all too well in 2020, health is precious. We are also keenly aware that data is key to solving health problems,” Professor Dodds said.
“La Trobe joining the Digital Health CRC will allow us to contribute to sustainable new ways for governments and their health-provider partners to responsibly collect, manage, manipulate and analyse large and complex health datasets for the good of society as a whole,” Professor Dodds said.
La Trobe’s Chair in Digital Health, Professor James Boyd, said the initiative fosters collaborative research and development focused on transforming health service delivery, improving health outcomes, reducing waste in the health system, and building health businesses and jobs.
“This new partnership enables our researchers to work hand in hand with industry to develop state of the art digital technology that delivers tangible impacts to the health system,” Professor Boyd said.
