Lancaster has won the UK-Malaysia Education Institutional Partnership Award for its partnership with Sunway University. The outstanding partnership award recognises a UK higher or further education institution that has partnered with a Malaysian organisation to deliver significant impact and value to the education sector in Malaysia. The award was collected by Professor Andrew Abbott Academic Dean, (Lancaster University at Sunway) at a ceremony in Sunway City, presented by Richard Graham MP, UK Prime Minister’s Trade Envoy to Malaysia. The awards were attended by His Excellency Charles Hay MVO, British High Commissioner to Malaysia and the Malaysian Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation Datuk Seri Dr Adham Baba.

There are currently over 5,600 students enrolled on twenty-seven programmes of study leading to Lancaster University and Sunway University certificates.

The 15th anniversary sees the launch of 20 new student mobility scholarships which will support increased exchange between Sunway and Lancaster – this will make Sunway Lancaster’s largest exchange partner.
