Lancaster University: Lancaster University Library team shortlisted for THE awards 2022
The team behind Lancaster University’s library has been shortlisted in The Times Higher Education Awards 2022.
The THE Awards 2022 attracts numerous entries which demonstrate the talent, commitment and innovation of individuals and teams across all aspects of university life across the UK and Ireland.
Lancaster University has been shortlisted for the ‘Outstanding Library Team’ for the second year running.
The Library team has focused on enhancing its outward-facing role and vision to ‘connect, innovate and include’, ensuring that the wider community see the University’s library as a resource they can use.
Andrew Barker, Director of Library Services & Learning Development, said: “I’m absolutely delighted that our library has been shortlisted for the Outstanding Library Team of the year for the second successive year. This success builds upon our recent successes in joining Research Libraries UK and our sector-leading National Student Satisfaction (NSS) score. That on this occasion we have been shortlisted for our engagement work demonstrates that we are much more than a traditional library service and are truly a university library where education, research and engagement all actively take place. This further success is a tribute to the outstanding work of all library colleagues.”
As well as joining Research Libraries UK, a consortium of leading and influential research libraries earlier this year, the University has continued investing in the library facilities with an £11 million extension, completed in 2021, providing an additional 450 study spaces.
