Law students train in Legal Research Database
Aligarh: BA LLB students of the Department of Law, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) enhanced academic and professional skills to search, analyse and evaluate information for conducting legal research in the recently held online training session on ‘Legal Research Database, Supreme Court Cases (SCC)’ of the Networking and Media Cell, Law Society.
Chairing the session, Prof Mohammad Ashraf (Dean, Faculty of Law and Chairman, Department of Law) said: “This training will put students on course with the ever expanding database and documents that are added every day. It is imperative that students go through a comprehensive research experience to use legal content from a consortium of top legal publishers in India and abroad”.
“Skills learned in this session will help students to easily access information on cases pending before a Court, write article and speeches and plan Moot Courts and projects”, said Prof Mohammad Tariq.
Dr Saim Farooqui discussed database search tools and techniques to access the e-resource and motivated students to take maximum advantage of subscribed e-resources.
Varalika Mendiratta (In-charge, Networking and Media Cell and Former Student Ambassador, SCC Online) delivered the welcome address and Taha Bin Tasneem demonstrated the use of various SCC Online tools.
Sohaib Akhtar (Secretary, Law Society) extended his vote of thanks.
