LCCM launches ‘FastTrack’, the first integrated digitalised platform for creative media students during COVID-19
London: London College of Creative Media (LCCM) has today announced the ‘FastTrack’ initiative launched in July, aimed at assisting students impacted by the coronavirus crisis.
FastTrack provides a range of dedicated services tailored to the current situation, as well as exclusive virtual events and learning resources. The project has been designed to offer current and future students a fully digitalised and integrated experience, looking after them from enrolment to graduation and beyond.
FastTrack offers advice for graduates and career support through a dedicated job portal, as well as virtual live events to connect students with the industry. All services and resources are easily accessible online through an innovative and multifunctional platform, a one of a kind by a creative media higher education institution in the UK.
The current crisis has forced higher education institutions around the world to adapt and implement distance learning methods. LCCM has decided to take this further by developing an initiative that brings innovation and connectivity to students who are struggling to continue with their studies and maintain a positive outlook on their future.
Simon Jones, Principal at LCCM, said: “Since the beginning of the pandemic, we’ve worked to ensure our students could continue their studies and we’ve been thinking about how to support them. With FastTrack, we have found a way to assist them through their journey from recruitment into the school to their future employment that other schools are yet to develop.
Students interested in joining the FastTrack platform will be able to do so through LCCM, but registration is also open to the public attending the free online events, ‘QuaranStream’. QuaranStream is a series of sector-leading events, featuring experts, professionals and speakers from the music and creative industries.
All FastTrack subscribers will gain access to the QuaranStream events, participating in live masterclasses with artists, instrumentalists, industry execs and more. JD Donovan, Creative Industries Liaison at LCCM said: “FastTrack is as it says: helping young people gain direct access to the music industry as they step out into the new post-COVID world.
“We realised we needed to move quickly to protect and support future careers: with FastTrack we have digitalised and reinvented the approach to HE Career Support. We are incredibly excited about a summer of landmark events with industry icons and game-changers, but also driven to do the very best we can to support and guide the wave of talented musicians and executives.”
