Leaders from academia and industry to ponder over the way forward for IIT Gandhinagar

Gandhinagar: The 9th Academic Advisory Council (AAC) and 10th Leadership Conclave (LC) of the Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar (IITGN) will be held on January 03 and 04, 2020 respectively. During the two days, eminent academicians and industry stalwarts from India and overseas and IITGN faculty members will make recommendations on major strategic initiatives of the Institute.

The 9th Academic Advisory Council will focus on effective strategies and system to increase faculty service for institutional building; to advance faculty and staff development; to promote research among non-PhD students; and examine the need to adopt a General Education component in the curriculum. The AAC will have leading academicians from Duke University, USA; University of Colorado, USA; University Institute of Lisbon, (ISCTE-IUL), Portugal; Yale University, USA; IIT Delhi; IIT Bombay; Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, Bangalore; among others, who will provide their strategic and external inputs on academic priority areas to IITGN.

The 10th Leadership Conclave on the next day will bring together some of the most eminent thinkers and industry experts to deliberate and guide the Institute on planning a comprehensive strategy for IITGN Next; ways to sustain and build upon its distinctive culture; developing strategies to deal with unexpected challenges; and approaches to scale-up fundraising.
