Bengaluru : LeapScholar, part of the world’s largest end-to-end study abroad platform, Leap, announced two new hybrid master’s degree programs in partnership with Case Western Reserve University (CWRU), one of the leading private research universities in the US. Expanding on the existing collaboration, LeapScholar brings Case School of Engineering’s much sought-after MS in Biomedical Engineering and MS in Mechanical Engineering programs to Indian students aspiring to earn a US degree in a hybrid format at a lower cost.

Case Western Reserve University, one of the top 50 universities in the US, was ranked 18th worldwide for its contributions to innovation by the Nature Index. The programs will be delivered to students online for a part of the course in India and the rest on-campus in Cleveland, Ohio. This hybrid format will reduce the overall cost of the MS in Biomedical Engineering program by up to 30% (approximately USD 20,556 or INR 17 lacs) and the MS in Mechanical Engineering by up to 30% (approximately USD 20,556 or INR 17 lacs), depending on currency conversion rates. The requirement of GRE scores and English proficiency test scores has been waived as a part of the eligibility criteria for the program. The programs have STEM designation which will enable students to qualify for a 3-year post-study work visa upon graduation, just like full-time international students.

Commenting on the new programs, Vaibhav Singh, Co-Founder, Leap said, “The interest in hybrid master’s programs is growing rapidly among Indian students, and our expanding partnership with CWRU strengthens our commitment towards making more programs available at an affordable cost. The two new MS programs will create world-class opportunities for those looking to pursue international careers in Biomedical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering.”

On the tails of a successful launch for the Masters in Computer Science hybrid program, we are excited to expand our programming by extending this innovative model to our Mechanical Engineering and Biomedical Engineering programs, allowing even more students to earn a master’s degree from the Case School of Engineering while residing in India during their first term. CWRU continues to reinforce a presence in India, furthering the delivery of high-quality education to all students,” said Venkataramanan “Ragu” Balakrishnan, the Charles H. Phipps Dean of the Case School of Engineering.

Fall session for Biomedical and Mechanical Engineering starts online in August 2024. Applications for both programs will open in early 2024 for Indian students. The last date to apply is July 28, 2024
