Learners License Test held for students at Polytechnic, Shopian

 

Shopian: The Transport department, Shopian today carried out ‘Learners License Test’ for students at Polytechnic College, here.

The programme was inaugurated by Principal, Polytechnic College, Altaf Gowhar in presence of Nodal Officer for camp office MVD Shopian.

Laying special emphasis on reaching out to youngsters and target groups, the Principal said that organizing such programs on road safety shall help in raising massive awareness on the vital issue among them to prevent accidents.

He said the need of the hour is to work on more innovative ideas like Mission Road Safety and Good Samaritan and rope in maximum volunteers in Road safety programs, besides making improvements in the response system as per the requirements.

It was informed that recently the department has started 12 online services of the Transport Department, with 07 online people-friendly services, to promote an effective and transparent public service delivery system.

He also stressed on the need to follow traffic rules and regulations besides cooperation and community participation of all the stakeholders to streamline the road safety mechanism.

Officials of the Transport Department, scores of students from various colleges and other concerned officers were present on the occasion.

Later Principal Polytechnic College distributed the Learners license among the participants.
