Roorkee: IIT Roorkee hosts Cognizance 2021, the first online edition of the Institute’s Annual Technical Festival and India’s most prominent technical festivals. The engineering student showcased papers on strengthening the traffic monitoring system with the solution of Artificial Intelligence and machine learning. The World’s First Hindi speaking Humanoid Robot and the First-time display of Glucose Monitor Smartwatch by the Director of Quantum Operation Inc.
The second day had the mesmerizing panel discussion of notable speaker Dr. Niranjan Hiranandani, the Co-Founder and Managing Director of the Hiranandani Group, a leading real estate group. The Director of IIT Roorkee, Prof. A.K Chaturvedi welcomed the guest speaker, faculty, students, and participants from every corner of the world. Albeit this time being held virtually due to COVID, the participants’ spirits and zeal have indeed been at their zenith.
During the panel discussion the guest speaker, Dr. Niranjan Hiranandani said, “Technology has made everyone’s life easy and comfortable in today’s modern generation. The change in the education system is only brought by Digitalization. Further, he added, we should always keep on learning throughout our age to be updated else it would be count as an outage person.”
This lecture encouraged the attendees to learn beyond the four walls of a classroom and provide the learner with a chance to attain self-mastery and emphasize personal development through constant immersion in knowledge and thoughtful discussions.
The events continued with the participants interested in displaying their skills and thriving through the competitive spirit. Immense participation was seen in many technical events like Codathon, Alankan, Aer-O-Vacx, case study, and finance events based on the ongoing issues like the Farm Bills and Currency Paradigm. Several departmental events were conducted for participants interested in Computer Science, Electronics, and Communication Engineering. These events were sponsored by tech giants like Salesforce, Coding Blocks, Geeks of Geeks, Airmeet, Wazirx, and big companies like PNB, Havells, Fenesta, and many more. About Cognizance 2021: This is the first online edition of the second largest technical festival in Asia. Its endeavors have been recognized by UNESCO, Make in India, CEE, SAYEN, and many other national institutions. It stands out from the rest as it boasts of being the only technical fest that organizes departmental events annually. Over the years, it has garnered an impressive reputation of catering to students from diverse backgrounds and disciplines by addressing the technical and managerial concerns at the industrial level.
