Learning Outcome under pilot programme ‘GAASH’ held at Shopian

 

SHOPIAN : The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shopian, Sachin Kumar Vaishya today convened a meeting of concerned officers to review the progress of ‘Pilot Schools’ of the Education department, a joint initiative by Deputy Commissioner, CEO,DIET and NGO (Rehmatel- Ul-lil aalameen Trust Shopian), at Mini Secretariat, Arhama, here.

Speaking on the occasion, the DC said that the aim of creation of ‘Pilot Schools’ has been to minimize the learning gaps and enhance learning outcomes among students and also to improve teaching, learning standards, as per curriculum expectation besides, achieve reasonable progress in distribution of new learning material, and provide enhanced teacher training for capacity building of staff.

He also stressed for supporting economically weaker students to enhance their learning amid Covid-19 and to bridge the learning gaps of students by focusing on innovative teaching and learning processes.

The DC emphasized on preparing children to utilize their abilities in the development of a healthy society progressing in a positive direction.

Focus was laid on making a child profile for identifying requirements of students particularly academic, co-curricular, health and hygiene, tracking system for each child and their investment in learning for all round development, community mobilization partnership at District level for best school/community relationship, summative type of evaluation of school etc.

The meeting ended with an appreciative note on the performance and engagement of all participants and stakeholders and it has been hoped that every contributor will invest his best in the cumulative accomplishment of the programme in the district.
