Lecture and workshop held on financial management
ALIGARH : The Commerce Club, Department of Commerce, Aligarh Muslim University, organized a finance workshop, “Paisa to Prosperity”, to provide the students and the community with practical financial literacy.
The guest speaker, Mr. Pushpraj Singh, Investment Banker, HDFC Mutual Funds, discussed how changes in lifestyle have affected people’s financial behaviour. He discussed how important it is for the youth to start investing early and how gold investment in India is mostly inefficient due to the culture, even though gold loan is the cheapest form of loan.
Earlier, welcoming the guest speaker, the Chairman of the Department, Prof. S.M. Imamul Haq highlighted the importance of financial management and urged the students to acquire financial knowledge for sound financial decision-making. He said that as the name suggests, the purpose of the workshop is to teach students how to turn their money into wealth.
He discussed the benefits of shares and mutual funds and urged the students to get deeper knowledge in this field as it will help them make a good career as investment managers and advisors.
Following his lecture, “BIZZ QUIZ” and “BID WAR” events were organized with enthusiastic participation by students.
