Lecture held on Diabetic Retinopathy

ALIGARH  : The Department of Moalejat, Faculry of Unani Medicine, Aligarh Muslim University organized a lecture on “Diabetic Retinopathy: The New Blinder” by Prof. Abdul Waris (Department of Ophthalmology, J.N. Medical College, AMU).

Prof. Waris emphasized the need for early referral of all diabetic patients for Fundus examination to detect retinopathy at an early stage, so that it can be managed effectively.

He urged the diabetes patients to go for an annual follow up after 8 years of diabetes and strictly follow the medical advices of doctors to prevent Diabetic Retinopathy. He stressed the importance of spreading awareness in public about of diabetic retinopathy to make them aware of the ill effects of diabetes on eye sight.

Prof BD Khan, Chairman, Departmnet of Moalejat presided over the programme and Dr Jamal Azmat welcome the guests.
