Lecture held on recent advances in criminal law
ALIGARH : The Faculty of Law, Aligarh Muslim University organized a lecture on ‘Recent Advances in Criminal Law’ by Senior Advocate Mr Sidharth Luthra, former Additional Solicitor General for India, who also inaugurated the Sir Syed Moot Court Competition 2024.
Mr Luthra explicated the passage of reforms in substantive and procedural criminal law.
Earlier, welcoming the guest speaker, Prof. M.Z.M. Nomani, Dean, Faculty of Law said that Mr Luthra has brought paradigmatic changes in Indian criminal justice system in post Nirbhaya Judgment through his impeccable advocacy.
Prof Ishrat Hussain, Organizing Secretary, Moot Court Society introduced Mr Luthra by encompassed his career in law teaching and legal practice.
In his concluding remarks, Prof Hashmat Ali Khan stated that Mr Luthra’s lecture dispelled the misgivings about recent criminal law reforms.
Mr Sabeeh Ahmad, Secretary, Law Society and Ms Asma Nafees, Secretary Moot Court Society announced the results of memorials for semi final and final rounds.
Dr Syed Mohd Yawar extended a vote of thanks.
