Lecture held on the use of AI in open learning

ALIGARH: The Centre for Distance and Online Education (CDOE), Aligarh Muslim University organized an online lecture on “Generative AI and Implication for Open Online and Distance Education” by Prof. Ramesh Chander Sharma, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar University, New Delhi, under the Jan Bhagidari events taking place in AMU, marking India’s G20 Presidency.

Prof. Sharma focused on AI tools and techniques used in online and distance learning and discussed various implications of online learning in higher education. He stressed that AI has a great future in India which is beneficial in academic activities both for the teachers and students.

In his opening remarks, Prof. Mohd Nafees Ahmad Ansari, Director, CDOE, appreciated the government policy to promote the use of AI in online learning. He said it will be a revolutionary development in higher educational perspective as is being felt after the introduction of Chat GPT like platforms.
