Lecture on “Menstrual Hygiene: Dos and Don’ts”

 

ALIGARH  : Dr. Nasreen Noor, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, J.N. Medical College, Aligarh Muslim University, delivered a lecture on “Menstrual Hygiene: Dos and Don’ts” at the Sarojini Naidu Hall of residence for girls and discussed various aspects of the topic, which remain to be a matter of concern for women and create health dogmas. The lecture was organized as part of the activities taken up to celebrate India’s G20 presidency.

Dr Noor elaborated on the ways of maintaining menstrual hygiene, proper ways of sanitary disposal, the myths associated with menses and when to seek medical help.

She interacted with the resident students and clarified their doubts and queries.

Meanwhile, the girl residents of the hall organized a poster competition on ‘Jan Bhagidari, the foundation of democracy’, which was judged by Dr. Nasreen Noor.

Sara Nawaz won the first prize while Nahid Parveen and Sana Arshad won the second and third prizes respectively.

Earlier, welcoming the guest speaker, Provost of the Hall, Prof. Shaheen emphasized the importance of maintaining proper menstrual hygiene and advised the girl residents to seek medical help in case of menstrual ailments or irregularities without any hesitation as it is a normal physiological process.

She congratulated the winners of the poster competition and thanked the organizing team.
