Lecture on “Understanding Diversity & Inclusion and Breaking Bias” by Nielsen’s Talent Acquisition Leader
New Delhi: Indian School of Business & Finance (ISBF), New Delhi, a leading institute for Economics, Management and Finance in India, through their Careers Team on Thursday, virtually hosted Ritrika Sakhujaas a Guest Lecturer to deliberate on the theme “Understanding Diversity & Inclusion and Breaking Bias”.
Ritika Sakhuja is the Talent Acquisition Leader (Africa, India and Middle East), Nielsen. Earlier she was with Genpact, CPA Global and Kantar as Human Resource professional with a career spanning over 15 years.
The public lecture was delivered virtually owing to the pandemic, and witnessed over 50 students participating from various schools and colleges across the country. The lecture led to a discussion on how diversity and inclusion at workplaces can bring innovative solutions and lead to better financial performance and organisational growth.
A renowned name in the human resource and talent acquisition industry, Ms.Sakhuja, during her session, emphasised on the fact that in the current uncertain times, it is crucial to understand diversity and inclusion in order to break biases at workplaces. She stressed the importance of educating ourselves on inculcating a positive behaviour towards understanding differences within society.
Sharing anecdotes from real-life scenarios on how gender bias has seeped into the hiring process at workplaces, she said, “We need to keep room for diversity in offices while not compromising on the quality of work. A woman or a transgender can do equally great as their male counterparts in the same position”.
The interactive lecture was followed by a highly engaging question-answer session led by the bright and inquisitive students participating from ISBF. During this, Ms.Sakhuja said,” The current generation has the opportunity to understand the miracles of diversity and inclusion more than ever before”.
