Lecture to mark ‘National Youth Day’ celebrations

 

Aligarh : Prof Nandita Satsangi, Dean, Faculty of Education, Dayalbagh Educational Institute, Agra encouraged Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) students to excel in entrepreneurship, further uplift agriculture and move on the right path with the best conduct and motives.

She was delivering an online lecture on ‘Preparing Youth for 21st Century’ to mark the birth anniversary of the social reformer, thinker and philosopher, Swami Vivekananda in the ‘National Youth Day’ celebrations of the Department of Education.

“As we honour the ideals and thoughts of Swamiji Vivekananda who had tremendous faith in youth, it is imperative for the young to make contributions to the GDP,” said Prof Nandita.

She called upon the young students to take positive steps for protecting the climate and biodiversity and to eliminate inequality.

“It must be ensured that what we produce is healthy for consumption. Equitable distribution of goods and services needs to be emphasized”, stressed Prof Nandita.

She pointed out: “There should not be a gap between demand and supply and more skilled manpower is needed”.

In the welcome address, Prof Mujibul Hasan Siddiqui (Chairman, Department of Education) said, “Swami Vivekananda propounded the importance of Education in building the Nation and firmly believed that education was the primary means to empower people. He particularly stressed on imparting education relevant to the masses”.
