Legal awareness camp organized
ALIGARH : The Alternate Dispute Resolution (ADR) Cell, Law Society, Department of Law, Aligarh Muslim University organized a legal awareness camp, Know Your Rights, at the lawns of the Arts Faculty, in collaboration with the Aligarh Municipal Corporation, in order to spread awareness regarding the fundament rights and duties.
In her address, Chief Guest, Ms. Pooja Srivastava, Assistant Municipal Commissioner, Aligarh, urged the students to organize legal awareness camps so that people can make the best use of their rights and duties for national progress. She invited the members of the ADR cell to visit the Aligarh Nagar Nigam for their wider exposure to the system. Later, she participated in an interactive session with the students and answered their queries.
In his presidential remarks, Prof. Mohammad Ashraf (Dean, Faculty of Law, Chairman, Department of Law, and President, Law Society) thanked Aligarh Nagar Nigam for collaborating with students in conducting the camp.
Prof. Asim Siddiqui (Chairman, Department of English) appreciated the efforts of the ADR cell and urged them to organize such camps in public residential areas for their wider impact.
Mohammad Numair Khan (Incharge, ADR Cell), along with Sohaib Akhtar (Secretary, Law Society) welcomed the guests, while Akash Varshney (Vice-President, Law Society) highlighted the need for spreading legal awareness among the general public. Alvina Rais Khan (Convener, ADR Cell) proposed a vote of thanks.
