Lendingkart supports the ‘Good School Project’, a flagship initiative by One Good Step

Bangalore: Lendingkart, India’s leading fintech company, today announced that they have joined hands with One Good Step to extend support to the ‘Good School Project’ program. The Good School Project is a high-impact program that aims to solve the most pressing problems in rural and urban government high schools. The key aim of the project is to bring basic educational infrastructure that is essential to the functioning of government schools. Additionally, other programs are also conducted to improve the quality of education for students.

The project aims to develop schools in three stages:

Stage 1: Basic School Infrastructure & Environment

Stage 2: Academic Outcomes & Essential Infrastructure

Stage 3: Skills and counseling

Lendingkart worked with One Good step to implement Stage 1 of the ‘Good School Project’ in three government schools. The schools have been refurbished and have received infrastructure upgrades in their classrooms. To encourage reading, a classroom library for early readers has been set up in GHS Doddakkanahalli, GHPS Munnekollala, and GHPS Kaikondrahalli.

Commenting on the development, Mr. Harshvardhan Lunia, Founder & CEO at Lendingkart said, “While our organization has always been committed to serving those segments of the society which need support for their upliftment and growth. This has been made possible thanks to the trust which MSMEs have shown in us resulting in Lendingkart transcending towards becoming the largest business loan provider in the country. Today as a profitable company, we are glad that we can continue to support these communities with services and skills that will help improve their standard and quality of living from our own revenue streams. Our CSR Vision is to enable sustainable development and inclusive growth through innovative socio-economic and environmental interventions. The Good School Project by One Good Step is the perfect program that we would like to associate with.”

The overall engagement with One Good Step in this year alone has created an impact for over 750 students from economically weaker backgrounds, who received access to basic educational needs such as classroom infrastructure and library books. The ‘Good School Project’ has had an impact by touching the lives of the community in the Bengaluru South 4 Educational Block.

Over the next 18 months, Lendingkart will work closely with the platform to develop & equip 25 government schools. The project will seek to cover classroom development needs (desk and benches, Nali Kali tables and chairs, reading corners, library, and minor classroom needs), non-standard requests like electrical fixtures, water filter, toilet renovation, safety grills, racks, and playground development will be looked into on a school-by-school basis.
