Lieutenant Governor Ladakh Brigadier Dr B. D. Mishra formally inaugurated the Y-20 pre-summit at Sindhu Sanskriti Kendra in Leh today.
After felicitating the delegates, during his address, LG Ladakh expressed happiness to host the delegates of Y20 and said that it is a great opportunity to meet and exchange ideas with the global youth.
During the inaugural address of the Y-20 Summit Brig. B. D. Mishra highlighted the development of the UT in different sectors through Ladakh’s unique products such as Pashmina, Apricot, and Sea Buckthorn and also development in astro-tourism, organic farming and women empowerment.
He also highlighted the role of the Indian army in the development of Ladakh in different sectors through goodwill programs under the banner of Sadbhavna.
Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports and Information and Broadcasting Sh. Anurag Singh Thakur is also scheduled to address the delegates on the third day of the Y-20 pre-summit tomorrow. The Minister will also hold a youth dialogue with the international delegates and local youth.
