Literary reading in the native language

Students and teachers of the Department of Baltic-Finnish Philology took part in the seminar “Literary reading in the native (Karelian, Vepsian, Finnish) language”.
The republican methodological seminar “Literary reading in the native (Karelian, Vepsian, Finnish) language” was held for teachers of native languages ​​of secondary schools of the Republic of Karelia, in which teachers of the republic’s schools and students of the department – future teachers and teachers who participated in the development of model educational programs on literary reading in their native language, and also acted as reviewers of these programs.

Within the framework of the event, reports were heard on the history of the development of the genre of children’s literature in Karelia in Finnish, Karelian and Vepsian languages, on the peculiarities of the organization of the grammar and spelling dictionary of the Karelian language (Livvik dialect), as well as exemplary educational programs of the subject “Literary reading in the native language ( Karelian, Vepsian, Finnish) language “for grades 1-4 of primary general education and outlined further prospects for the creation of educational programs for the middle and senior level.

The seminar was organized and conducted at the initiative of the Karelian Institute for Education Development on the Zoom platform.
