London School of Economics and Political Science: LSE student makes Forbes 30 under 30 list 2022
LSE undergraduate student Rory Moore has been named on the Forbes 30 under 30 Europe list for his social action work.
The 21-year-old International Relations student was recognised in the list’s social impact category for his wide-ranging work, including founding the world’s largest Covid-19 volunteering organisation, CCV Global.
The organisation, which started as a local scheme in Rory’s village to combat loneliness and help with grocery shopping during the pandemic, reached 40 countries across six contients, matching up volunteers with those in need of support.
As a result of this work, Rory received a Points of Light award from the Prime Minister and was asked to advise the UK Government on volunteering strategy. He has also advised a range of companies and NGOs on ESG and sustainability strategy and is a Global Shaper for the World Economic Forum where he leads on a project helping non-profits scale their impact.
In addition to this work, Rory is the Global Director of a social enterprise that helps underprivileged girls access education in India. He has given keynote speeches at events in four continents and is seeking to inspire other young people to set up their own social impact organisations.
After graduating from LSE this summer, Rory will be continuing his social impact journey as Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the impact business of global private equity firm IKAR Holdings.
Commenting on his inclusion in the list, Rory said: “I am incredibly proud to be on the Forbes 30 Under 30 list, and it feels surreal to be in the company of so many successful and inspirational young people from across the continent.
The list represents the power of young people as change-makers in society.
